Neighbourhood
There is a ruin of a small fortress called 'Pustý Hrádek' (Waste Castle) cca 400 m east of the castle. This place is situated higher than the castle itself - 924 m above sea level. You can enjoy a wonderful view of Šumava mountains and Kašperk castle from there.- There are lots of important sights in Kašperské Hory. St Nicholas' Church, a very precious Gothic church with unique wall paintings, archdeaconal St. Margaret's Church, pilgrimage church of Virgin Mary the Snowy and the historical building of the Town Hall.
- In The Museum of Šumava, there are several naturalistic and historical expositions including a set of jugendstil glass and thematically varied seasonal expositions.

Tel.: 606 737 041 - In the winsome countryside around Kašperské Hory you can find many other interesting places to see e.g. former Celtic forts (oppida) called 'Sedlo' (Saddle) near Albrechtice and 'Obří hrad' (Giant Castle) near Popelná. You can also visit the nearby glassworks in Anín.
- Kašperské Hory is one of the main starting points when you visit Šumava Mountains. In the Information Centre of the National Park and Protected Landscape Area of Šumava there is an exposition dealing with nature and landscape protection.
